Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking (by Susan Cain)

In the world fraught with madness and disturbances, people are less likely to talk about themselves, about their internal personality or even about what they feel with others, and even their families. Some people do not feel an urge to say, others feel awkward to mention their feelings. As an introverted person by nature, I prefer journaling to having an intimate chat with my peers. I thought that I would forever keep those lines of thoughts on pages till I read that book - Quiet by Susan Cain.

Though the author - Susan Cain chooses an abstract topic to delve into, the dialogues are immensely realistic, which allows the audience to be easily inside the story. That is how a 18-year-old young adult like me was able to perceive the idea that the author wants to bring to us. I cannot tell I understand most of the words that she wrote, but there is no doubt that the book touches my deepest emotion whenever I re-read it. I feel like Susan Cain is telling my life story because I find myself in every word and then you know why I choose this book to mention as one of the most impactful books that I have ever read.

Instead of keeping saying the same things over and over again like a parrot like: the author's words are beautiful, she is excellent at expressing her thoughts, ... All I want to say is that: You should read it once. In the case of me, I have engaged with her lines of thoughts and comprehended that the term 'introvert' covers a number of meanings than what dictionaries define it as 'a shy person'. Personally, Quiet gives me not only the definition of 'introvert' but also a way to escape from my previous toxic thoughts that 'I cannot say anything because I'm an introvert'. Therefore, right now, when being sarcastically asked and mentioned as an introvert, I will proudly say that 'because I'm an introvert, I'll say the things'.

I cannot illustrate how passionate I am about this book. But if you ask, I'll probably answer that whenever I read this book, I'm not even aware of time. I just read, till the end of the day. If you are wondering about your meaning of life as an introvert, I highly recommend you to read this book. We all want the best things for your fragile souls.
